About Me
- Name: K Dyble Thompson
- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States
My art communicates the joy I feel in exploring the world around me, from the animals and plants in the garden to the people and architecture in piazzas in lands to which I am drawn. I am an avid traveler, and no matter where I am I study my surroundings and record and interpret them in small watercolor studies done on site. In my studies of light, color and location, I create my own database of piazzas and people that act as catalysts for memories of the dialogues and anecdotes from my travels. I begin to paint and draw as a stranger in a new location. Often, while working, I interact with the local people, and the dialog we enter into becomes part of the finished work. When I create art, whether it’s a chalk mural on the pavement; a scene sketched in front of the Louvre; a drawing made in a Sicilian piazza or a mural in Milwaukee, the goal is to make a connection between a place or person I know and the viewer. By taking the viewer on a journey and sharing my understanding of the truth to be found I am demystifying and making beautiful what might otherwise be foreign or strange.

That's pretty cool art.
WHAT ABOUT THIS CAR PARK ART?
How about going a slightly different way with Art in the form of improving a concrete jungle....
